Canada's Got Talent - Voting FAQs

Voting is online only on the official Citytv website. Voting options will only appear when voting is open. You can vote on a desktop or on a mobile device through your internet browser. There are no call/phone or social media voting options.

Viewers will be able to vote in each of the 2 semi-final episodes and the final episode. For each episode, viewers can vote up to 3 times for their favourite act. In each case, votes can be divided between different acts. The 3-vote limit will be monitored with email and Facebook sign-in.

For each of the 2 semi-final episodes viewer voting will open for 24 hours after the first airing of each semi-final episode on Citytv. The judges will select 2 acts to advance to the finale and announce their choices at the end of each episode, at which point viewers will have 24 hours to vote on the remaining 7 acts.

Finalists chosen by viewers will be revealed in the live finale on Tuesday May 17th. During the finale episode, voting will be open for the majority of the final episode until all acts have performed with the host preparing to announce the winner. But beware: viewers will still only have 3 votes, so choose wisely!

At the end of each semi-final episode, the judges will select 2 acts to advance to the finale. Those acts will not be eligible for viewer voting. Viewers can select between the remaining 7 acts.

In total, 8 acts will make it to the Canada’s Got Talent finale. Four of these acts will be selected by the judges and 4 of these acts will be the winners of the viewers’ votes.

In the event of a tie, the judges must choose which act advances or wins the competition. If the judges’ votes are tied, the head judge selects the winning act.

No, you must be located within Canada to access voting. Only voters residing within Canada can access voting.
